The Florida Tech Women’s lacrosse team won their third straight game on Wednesday, dominating the visiting Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals 22-0 at Florida Tech Panther Stadium.

Sara Grenier had a hat trick in the first 10 minutes of the contest and she finished with four goals. Allie Modica (2 G, 2 A) and Sam Schiano (3 G, 1 A) had four point nights as well.

Most of the game was played with a running clock, but it didn’t run fast enough for Cardinals goalie Maire Austin, who gave up 10 goals before being pulled 17:09 into the contest. She made just two saves. Renee Cline played the remaining 42:51, giving up 12 goals and making three saves. Florida Tech took 32 shots during the course of the night.

Panthers goaltender Stephanie Stuart had to make just one save in 30 minutes of work. Backup goalie Chloe Zador played the second half and made three saves. The Cardinals managed just six shots all night.

Florida Tech (3-1) found the back of the net 13 times in the first half and with many bench players seeing time in the second half, they tallied nine times. Alexis Townsend (twice), Jordan Grant and Mollie Kaplan all found their way into the goal column in that second half.

Not surprisingly, the Panthers led in draw-controls 16-8, free-position shots 6-0 and ground balls 22-10. The only negative for Florida Tech was their 13 turnovers.

The Panthers will play host to the Saint Anselm Hawks on Saturday. First draw is set for 2:30 p.m.
