Six-Run First Sinks Florida Tech Softball
The University of Alabama in Huntsville scored six runs in
the first inning on Monday, propelling the home team to a 7-1 victory over

followed by back-to-back home runs by Kaitlyn Bannister and Taylor Wascavage.

fielder’s choice. It was a short reprieve, because Reagan Malone doubled in
another run, giving the Chargers a 4-0 lead.
That was the end of the day for Pence (7-7), who pitched 0.1
innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits. She threw 18 pitches.
Amanda Kahn came
on in relief of Pence and allowed an RBI single to Sarah Jordan and an RBI
ground out to Ashley Cornell, to complete the scoring. UAH sent 10 batters to
the plate in the inning.
The Panthers (10-12) scored their only run of the game in
the third inning. Audrey Gangloff and Kaitlin Buchholz hit back-to-back singles
off Harrison and Alexus Smith doubled Gangloff home one out later, making it
6-1.

Chargers in the bottom of the fifth, capping the scoring. It was the sixth hit
Kahn gave up on the day. She allowed two runs (one earned) did not walk a
